A well-earned reputation as a terrible place to work
I learned more at Amazon than I had at any other time in my career. It's also an excellent name to have on the resume.
Horrible culture, no work-life balance, conflicting priorities, dehumanizing environment. Management and HR are consistently hypocritical, and you cannot trust them. It is very, very difficult to get promoted without working significant hours outside of your already full sprint work. Compensation is good overall in the market, but not when compared to top tech companies, where it falls near the bottom of the range.
