Amazon is an exceptionally good place to grow as an engineer. You will be given interesting work and excellent pay. Work-life balance has a reputation of being "hit or miss" at the company (mine has been good), so that's something to watch out for.
Regardless, after a few years at Amazon, you will come out a far more skilled individual, and companies will be lining up to hire you.
