Pros

Great pay and remote work (at the time).

Easy to change teams if your manager allows it.

Cons

If you land on a bad manager, you're doomed. Mine bypassed all HR processes and put me on the underperformance plan without telling me or giving me the actual plan. When I discovered it, I told HR, and they confirmed that it was wrong. Everyone I worked with said I was doing a good job, except for my manager. To fix this, HR put me on the next stage of the plan. I quit then.

When I quit, all the managers faked that they were surprised, telling me that if they had known, they'd have fixed this (although we had been discussing it for the past 3 months).

Advice to Management

When people are wrongfully put on underperformance plans, please don't keep them on said plan.

Work on the manager instead.
