An incredibly team-based experience (RNG)
- High compensation
- Great tech equipment
- Tech stack is usually quite modern
- WLB can be good if on the right team and have the right manager
- Usually high stress and turnover amongst engineers and managers.
- Frequently lots of politics and re-orgs that see people get pushed out and placed on PIP.
- On-call routines can be brutal (again team dependent). I've seen either one week on-call or up to three weeks of on-call that can be incredibly busy with numerous SEV2 tickets flying in.
Make the WLB better and enforce some more standardization across orgs and teams. Although this is a lot easier said than done.
