Specially the retail software division is highly engaged in politics. If you want to join, then only join AWS, Kindle, or Fire TV.
The management in retail is highly political. The high bar set upon them makes them compete between orgs, and you may be dragged into it.
Low salary.
The management in retail has a target to put a certain percentage of people on PIP. They always choose SDE-2s for this. You would be surprised at the feedback in PIPs. Your manager will say it's not in their control; it's company policy of rank and yank, etc., etc.
Lots of micromanagement. In fact, the manager keeps documenting your daily activities. They do not know who will be put on PIP the next year, so they are always ready with the proofs.
Actually, other companies should stop hiring managers from Amazon. They bring their toxic culture everywhere.
It was good, but they didn't respond to me for a long time after 14 days. I asked them why, but they didn't respond back.
Initial phone call with a recruiter, followed by a 90-minute coding assignment. This consisted of standard LeetCode-style algorithm and data structures problems, loosely related to the specific role and easy to prepare for by using normal resources.
Only one round for the intern position. The first part of the interview was technical questions. I got one "out of the box" question and one LeetCode question created by the interviewer, not on the list. The second part of the interview was behaviora
