High quota to PIP, benefit not great

Pros

Move fast and can learn public cloud technologies.

Amazon almost never lays off and is always hiring, thanks to their PIP system.

Cons

High URA quota. In my org, 16% quota is used to put employees on a dev list, which is a prelude to a performance improvement plan (PIP). 6% of employees were put directly into PIVOT as a PIP for one month. As a result, 10% of employees will be fired each year.

Amazon is the only place I've worked where teammates discuss PIPs publicly and complain about company benefits from day one.

Employees cannot vest 401k if they leave without long tenure.
