Pros

Focusing on the customer brings out the best innovation.

Fast-paced for the size of the company, with fewer processes to bother about.

New ideas and experiments.

Cons

As the company grew, the talent level started dwindling. The average talent is abysmally low for its reputation.

In a rush to hire, lots of ICs were promoted to middle management without any gauging of their management skills.

Lots of managers were hired who are not accustomed to the 14 leadership principles of the company, which are the pillars of Amazon's success. There is no attempt to run an orientation for these managers to align themselves with the leadership principles.

Candid feedback results in backlash instead of verifying the feedback.
