Great company to start your career, but it will kill you if you stay
You will learn a lot about software, whether or not your role is directly software-related. Your skills will improve significantly during your time at Amazon.
Amazon will actively try to work you to death. It was common for my team to commit code at 1 am. Developers who refuse to work extended hours are regularly fired for "not meeting the bar".
It's also a highly political environment. Your promotion or firing is determined by your ability to gather consensus among the managers.
Don't treat employees as consumable items.
