Pros

Culture is nice. Ideas/concerns can be brought to higher management. You can make an impact. Wasn't pushed for overtime. You can easily change teams.

Cons

Interviews are hackable; the interviewers have very different ideas of the hiring bar.

The firing process is long and hard. Talent would just change teams or leave the company as things start to go sideways.

Compensation started lagging behind the competition.

No longer day 1, things move slower. Teams have less independence, [there are] crappy mandatory courses, and the security bar is high but hard to maintain as patches that should be deployed yesterday are very common.

Advice to Management

The hiring bar shouldn't be diagonal.
