Pros

One of, if not the best, company that I worked at in my 40 years of working in the software industry.

The customer-centric culture of the company really helps to focus teams on what makes building software fun and rewarding.

The staff are very smart, and the management is willing to take risks and do bold things.

Amazon's leadership principles help to create a value system and operating culture that help the company be enormous yet nimble.

I worked at Amazon for ~12 years and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Cons

The intensity of the work is not for everyone, or may not be for you in your current life stage. Many of the organizational planning mechanisms operate on yearly cycles. This helps keep the company nimble at the expense, sometimes, of quality. Decisions can be biased toward short-term versus longer-term benefit.

Advice to Management

Nurture the culture.
