You get to test the latest video cards that are not out in the market as of yet. The team is very friendly, a great environment to work in.
There are some boring times where no projects are to be done.
When I was working, they had to cut budgets for many things.
The approach right now that AMD is taking is doing great. The products that AMD is putting out have huge competition to Nvidia and are greatly winning. As long as they keep up with the products being excellent, they should do well.
