Above average pay. Flexible hours. Onsite cafeteria. One-on-one reviews with management every other week are great to stay on track of my goals and what is expected of me.
Short-term contract. I was told I would be there a year, but the contract was cancelled after 6 months due to budget cuts. I had been there once before, and it lasted 18 months, which was great, so I expected to be there at least a year. However, they pulled the plug early, which caught me by surprise.
Don't hire too many contractors just to let them go after a few months. Utilize their unique skills, let them wear several hats, and keep them around for a while. I have and always will be a loyal employee, even as a contractor. I understand business is just business, and contractors cost money, so when the contract ends, it's not because I did something wrong. However, it would be nice to have the contract last at least as long as we are told it will.
The interview process was easy to schedule and go through. Two interviews back to back. A rude interviewer who did not allow me to answer questions that he asked. Mostly a resume screening, although he did not want to hear about my experience.
One initial recruiter call followed by an interview loop. The loop consisted of two 1-hour interviews, which included technical and coding questions. I was unable to answer some questions and was subsequently rejected.
The process felt disjointed with unusual follow-up times. However, all recruiters and interviewers were very friendly. It seems the teams, rather than HR, control the timelines. Interviewers were very knowledgeable.
