Flexible work hours. Managers don't normally keep track of work hours or ask you to be physically in the office all the time.
Good work-life balance. Work days and work hours are flexible as long as the hours are about right. I have never been rejected on my vacation requests either. (Of course, I don't purposely take days off during the busy time.)
AMD is burning cash and not making enough revenue to cover the costs. Layoffs are depressing. The stock going down is depressing. I came from ATI. One of the first things AMD senior management promised in 2006 when they acquired ATI was to continue the quarterly all-hands meetings. They failed on the very first quarter after the merger. There hasn't been enough visibility of what's going on besides your own team.
We need to come up with something exciting that energizes the company when the economy is bad and there is no quick solution to turning into profitability. Taking away benefits like movie passes and monthly donut day is not the best way to turn into profitability, anyways.
It was a very tough round of interviews. I was able to make it through. There were a lot of questions from VLSI and digital electronics, as well as questions related to the job description.
The interview process consisted of: * A 30-minute HR call. * A 30-minute hiring manager call (general CV overview). * Four 45-minute interviews with various engineers, including one behavioural interview and the rest mostly technical, featurin
Basic question from DSA and memory. I joined as fresher, so the interview was not very deep. They asked me about the types of cache, linked lists. Also some questions from Digital Electronics.
