Pros

Good company if you just mind your own business and do your work. Don't try to change the culture because you can't. If you're a "yes" man or woman, you might like the company and can move up.

  • Flight benefits
  • Good network (flights)
  • Laidback most of the time
  • It can be fun if you have good coworkers
  • 5.5% 401k matching after one year
Cons
  • Bad management; directors are useless, they don't support their teams. They will take credit for your accomplishments.
  • It's all about kingdom building for some management.
  • Not forward-thinking.
  • All you hear from upper management is "caring for people's journey"; they say this all the time, but their actions say otherwise.
  • Directors have no idea how to manage resources.
  • No leadership skills from any management (managers, directors, and managing directors).
  • 2.5% "merit" raises if you are lucky every year.
Advice to Management

When you are a manager or director, your job is to develop, care for, and help your employees grow.

Hire your management based on leadership skills and people skills, not engineering skills.

True leaders step up when times are tough.

Stop saying, "You're caring for people's life journeys" every other sentence. What you do holds more value than what you say.

Doug just likes the government to bail him out every time the economy tanks. This shows a lack of creativity from leadership. Stop following other airlines; come up with new ideas.
