Process

I had an initial call with the recruiter, after which he scheduled the ATS (video call) round. I took the ATS round on July 17, 2018. This was a 90-minute technical screening.

At the end of this round, the interviewer said the recruiter would get back to me within 7 days. I waited for almost 20 days and then reached out to the recruiter. The recruiter confirmed I had cleared the ATS round and mentioned that my scores had been shared with different teams in the Sunrise, Florida office.

After 10 days, I reached out to the recruiter again for an update. I received no response. I waited for 2 days and then sent another email. He replied, asking for my location preference. I had already provided my location preference during the initial call, and I was unsure why this was being re-addressed after a month.

Upon reiterating my location preference, he stated he would get back to me. Again, there was no response. It had been close to 2 months by then, so I sent another email to the recruiter requesting an update. He replied immediately, stating it was his last working day at Amex and had looped in another recruiter.

Following this, I began contacting the new recruiter. I had to send approximately 3 to 4 emails to get a single response from him. His consistent reply was that he was still awaiting feedback from the teams. This continued for a month, bringing the total time since my first technical round to 3 months.

After 3 months, I received an email from Cloud Partners. This firm is engaged with Amex to improve the hiring process and candidate experience. I briefed them about my interview process, and they assured me they would look into the issue and provide an update at the earliest.

Today, after 4.5 months, I have received no further update from the Amex recruiter or Cloud Partners. They never followed up, even after confirming I had cleared the first round.

This has definitively been the worst experience I have encountered. I have never experienced a process like this before, and their hiring process needs significant improvement.
