Software Engineer • Current Employee
Pros: - Large amount of ownership.
- Fast-paced.
- Lots of smart people from a good mix of backgrounds.
- Compensation is competitive.
- My opinion is always valued.
- An insane amount of freedom in equipment usage (any operating system, IT is there to help you succeed while keeping you secure).
- Incredibly little red tape.
- Focused on an in-office environment and the benefits that come from synchronously working closely with others.
- The food is really good!!
- Small enough that you can make a significant impact as a single person still.
- People actually take vacation.
Cons: - Long workdays at times (but it’s often up to you to decide to work late).
- No hand-holding; figure it out, or you aren’t going to make it far here.
- If you’re looking for a super remote-friendly ecosystem, this is not the ideal company.
- Infrastructure for software is lacking, which can cause frustrations at times, especially if you’re used to larger companies with mature ecosystems.
- Since lots of people are engrossed in their work, lunch banter doesn’t happen as often, and many take short lunches.
