Decent Pay, Terrible Management
Software Engineer • Current Employee
Costa Mesa, California, United States
August 12, 2024
Pros: Decent comp vs defense space.
Location is nice.
Some business lines are better than others.
Cons: Management in the Vehicle Autonomy org is terrible. There is no clear direction on products, and there is more and more administrative BS (TPMs, scrum, story points, etc.). There are also more requests to work weekends. No interesting work is being done, just full-time configuration management. Compensation bumps are pretty poor, and morale is very low. I would not recommend joining any of the robotics orgs.

Cons: - Lack of planning across the company.
- Need to hire people that have done the job before, not their friends.
- More worried about culture rather than success.
