Pros

Very talented individuals, whose combination of talent and past experience allows them to generate ideas, prototypes, and fixes quickly.

Appropriate resources, allowing people to test and make mistakes, thus leading to a better product.

Cons

The company is learning to work together as a complete organization to build products. This means that the handoffs of both information and products between groups are scattered, requiring individuals who take high ownership to fill the gaps.

This is expected for a company transitioning away from being a startup, and Anduril is healthier than most. But, this cannot be the norm for a company that builds thousands of products that will be in military hands.

Advice to Management

The company must first become comfortable with delivering products to itself in order to deliver to customers.

This means scrubbing away obsolete standards and practices in order to put more uniform ones in their place.

While this does mean letting go of the individual styles that got most people success thus far, it also means that you can better rely on the work of others, and trust they put in the work to make sure you have a chance of success with your part.
