Pros
  • Large amount of ownership.
  • Fast-paced.
  • Lots of smart people from a good mix of backgrounds.
  • Compensation is competitive.
  • My opinion is always valued.
  • An insane amount of freedom in equipment usage (any operating system, IT is there to help you succeed while keeping you secure).
  • Incredibly little red tape.
  • Focused on an in-office environment and the benefits that come from synchronously working closely with others.
  • The food is really good!!
  • Small enough that you can make a significant impact as a single person still.
  • People actually take vacation.
Cons
  • Long workdays at times (but it’s often up to you to decide to work late).
  • No hand-holding; figure it out, or you aren’t going to make it far here.
  • If you’re looking for a super remote-friendly ecosystem, this is not the ideal company.
  • Infrastructure for software is lacking, which can cause frustrations at times, especially if you’re used to larger companies with mature ecosystems.
  • Since lots of people are engrossed in their work, lunch banter doesn’t happen as often, and many take short lunches.
Advice to Management

More participation and opportunities with cross-team activities would go a long way. There are so many exciting projects and people to share knowledge with!
