I had two interviews for separate jobs at Apple.
The first was for an Audio Software Engineer position. The interview went rather normally. I had one phone call with the manager, followed by two live coding challenges. I never heard back from them after the live coding challenge. I tried to follow up, but neither the recruiter nor the manager would reply. After two and a half hours of interviews, you would think they’d have the decency to reject you.
The second job was labeled as Core Audio Software Engineer on the Apple website. Once I got to the Zoom call, I was informed the interview was for an Audio DSP Engineer position. I was shocked to be told this was the case, as the role was clearly not the same as the job posting. At least this time, they were nice enough to send me an email of rejection.
Overall, it was a really poor experience that felt entirely unorganized in both cases.
