I was approached by a recruiter and scheduled for a phone interview with the QA Manager and one of the team members. The interview with the QA Manager involved assessing my QA skills and experience. The interview with the team member was technical, focusing on test automation using Selenium, SQL, and Unix.

Further, I was invited for an in-person interview, which consisted of seven one-on-one interviews.

• Three of the members repeated the same set of questions. Even after suggesting that I had already answered similar questions, the interviewer repeated them, seeming a bit annoyed.
• One of the developers asked me how to test sending an email from a browser. Since I didn't have experience, I honestly said I didn't know. To my surprise, the developer mentioned they had been struggling with how to test that specific feature and were looking for a solution from me.
• One of the Architects asked me to calculate a sum in multi-threaded Java. I hardly knew Java then and had made this very clear to both the recruiter and the QA Manager, but there were no complaints about that.

Never even once was I asked about test automation, which was the position I was interviewing for.

After 30-45 days, I approached the recruiter and was informed that I was weak in automation
