Site Reliability Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

I spoke with a Director who then recommended me for two meetings with SRE EMs. I spoke with the EMs separately but on the same day. All talks were pleasant and had a good flow and rhythm.

The interviews focused on soft skills and technical experience, but nothing in depth technically. They explored my experiences and exposure to working with customers and managing conflict.

I am extremely disappointed that after two follow-up emails to the recruiter and one to the Director, neither has replied to my emails. Therefore, I conclude that I was not successful. This is in stark contrast to the pleasant interview ambiance. Even Google got back to me to politely advise they did not want to continue with my application. I am not a sore loser, but I would have appreciated a generic and kind decline email.
