Cons: They treat you like robots. You’re not even respected in the team after putting so much work, as contractors aren’t a part of the company. I was made to work from 8 AM to almost 10 PM every day while I was paid for only 40 hours per week. To top it all, I was made to relocate in the middle of the pandemic from the East Coast to the West Coast to WFH. I wasn’t informed about relocating earlier, and two days before joining, I was told if I didn’t relocate, they’d be canceling the contract. Obviously, they did not cover the expenses since it was a contracting position.

Pros: - Comparable benefits. - Apple stocks doing reasonably well, so RSU value increases. - Up to $10k matching for charity. - 401k funds available to select are good. - Apple brand on your resume. - Apple products at a discount for self, family, and friends.

Cons: I work for IS&T, and my review and opinion are not for all of Apple. It's very hierarchical with an outdated management style. Engineering managers with poor people management skills are plentiful here. They cannot be trusted, and they make no effort to build trust. Don't expect a transparent appraisal process like in other big league companies. There is no standard work culture, compensation, or rewards across all divisions. It varies very widely. Knowing about the hierarchy, their products, and their visibility is important if someone is planning to join. In general, products used by end users of Apple products have high visibility, and people working there get well rewarded for good work. It's better to avoid auxiliary products or those made for internal customers. They have very tight budgets, and rewards are hard to come by. Hence, a lack of transparency and silly politics. This is of least concern, but if you are a foodie, then you will be disappointed. There is no free food. Food in the cafeteria is average and expensive.
