Process
The interview process consists of four rounds:
- 1st round: A take-home assignment to implement an API.
- 2nd and 3rd rounds: These appear to be merged, involving the hiring manager and another staff engineer.
- 4th round: A discussion with a Director in the US.
SREs should be tested on improving the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of production systems by applying software engineering practices. If that sounds familiar, it's because it's part of the job description. LeetCode/technical coding is not software engineering.
The staff engineer mentioned, "Oh, we're rebuilding our systems every other year. We're now migrating from Python to Golang, blah blah." Buddy, that just sounds like a bad design decision from a few years back.
