The wider team in Europe and the US are nice, and I can work with nice people outside of Paris if the manager doesn't get in the way.
- Toxic team leaders.
- Not meritocratic; progression is at manager discretion, with limited oversight for inexperienced managers.
- Managers have too much influence and demonstrate incompetence.
- Research is incremental and in a niche area not relevant to modern machine learning.
Fire the management in Paris and have more oversight. Implement proper processes for performance reviews rather than relying on manager discretion.

Two screening calls with the manager and one researcher. Afterwards, there was a one 45-minute research talk, followed by 5-6 interviews with researchers from the team. The interviews took place over 2 days.
