Apple is simply the best company I have ever worked at. My first time working for Apple was when I was a contractor at IS&T. Then I rejoined Marcom and shipped digital signage software which customers use worldwide, even to this day. I left for several career advancements, became a lead, and rejoined again after 2 years.
The people, the culture, the work are simply unmatched elsewhere.
Politics. Understandable, because not everyone is a craftsman, and survival depends on soft skills, connections, and channels instead. But when people who have grown their profession with such skills become leaders, it eventually prevents many potential innovations.
Look into those who actually do the work and listen to them for execution.
Overall smooth. Had 3 interviews: one behavioral and 2 technical. Heavy system design and debugging. Interviewers were nice, standard interview format with an introduction and then mostly technical questions. Some OOP concepts needed as well.
