Apple is a great place to work, but salaries don't reflect the success the company has had in recent years

Pros

You get to work alongside some of the brightest, most energetic people in the industry in an environment where creativity is encouraged.

Apple really knows how to hire.

You can feel proud of what your company does and the products it creates.

You get the feeling of working for a startup within a large, established company.

Cons

Compensation is well below industry standard. No stock options unless you're management level or greater. Profit sharing is apparently non-existent. Even though the company is doing well, you don't get to take some of that success home with you.

If you're not directly working on a major product, it's very easy to feel unappreciated.

Advice to Management

Get a little more generous with salary and stock. Nothing lavish, but the company can afford to compensate more in line with the rest of the industry now that it's very profitable.

In the current economic climate, employees would very much appreciate it.
