Nice technology, nice hardware, some good teams and good people in some areas.
Obviously, every team and role is different. In my experience, the contractor role was abused. Others took credit for your work. You can't access needed systems, which slows your work down compared to an FTE. Contractors are treated as second-class citizens, like a caste system. Compensation is okay, but the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) is much less than an FTE. It's likely a short-term opportunity. There are some creeps in the organization. All depends on the team and management.
Stop hiring under contracts. Realize technology enables remote work and stops the inefficient waste and dangerous situations that commuting in overpopulated areas causes. Finally, how is isolating your employees to regions creating a diverse and inclusive workforce?
