Please remove the requirement to inform your manager when you are interviewing internally. Any employees who are looking to move to other teams for whatever reasons risk their bonuses, stock compensation, and growth opportunities when they inform their managers. It is unfair and restricts internal movement.
Please develop internal tracks to make it easier for employees to switch to alternative careers, such as program management, product management, and software engineering. Encourage hiring managers to hire from the pool of employees who have signed up for any of such tracks.
