Solar group in Applied Materials
Applied has the best semiconductor tools in the world, and this is very useful for solar cell development. Other than this, Applied has very good technical support to do characterization for material and device.
Collaboration between product management and product development needs to be improved. Solar is a kind of new business for Applied. Applied needs to find a good point to get into the game.
Unlike in the semiconductor division, product management did not play an important role in the solar business group. I think this part needs to be improved if Applied Materials likes to grow the business in the solar market.
