Pros

Applied gave me a job offer (God bless AMAT). The benefits were pretty good. It is very good for an international engineer (it is very hard to find an engineer from the US). Their green card support is good.

Cons

There is no work/life balance.

There is no mutual trust and respect between manager and engineer.

The middle manager is just watching what the top manager (general manager) thinks.

The most stupid decision was made around 5 pm. Engineers waited for the stupid decision and worked overtime.

Weekend work is very common, but middle managers really enjoy engineers working during the weekend (no overtime pay, no reward).

The review process is pretty biased.

Middle managers hate engineer career development (training or conferences), and they just want a slave.

Advice to Management

Please keep in mind mutual trust and respect.

Please listen to what the engineer says. (They are so stupid that they do not know what the customer really wants.)

100 hours of work under stupid direction is less effective than 10 hours of work with a good idea.
