Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bellevue, Washington

Process

I submitted my resume, and HR called me for a brief screening to see if the position was a good fit. After that, a technical interview was scheduled. The interview focused mostly on data structure concepts and language fundamentals.

Then, I was invited for an onsite interview, which was planned to last five hours.

The onsite interview was very broad. Interviewers asked questions about algorithms, as well as knowledge and experience-based questions, ranging from bug-tracking systems to databases. If you are a student with little experience, then this is definitely not a good match for you.

The aspect that severely hurt me is that the interview was planned for five hours, but I was almost "expelled" in the middle with the excuse of "no good match for this position." This suggests the company showed no respect to the interviewee, which is very rare in my interview experiences with other companies.
