Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Vancouver, British Columbia

Process

I applied online through LinkedIn and the recruiter contacted me within a week. The recruiter scheduled a 30-minute call at first to discuss the role and the company. That call was followed by an online 1-hour interview. They asked me questions on DS, OS, and C++ (the interview was on CoderPad). They were mostly interested in how much in-depth knowledge I have.

That was followed by two 1-hour interviews, back-to-back. In the first hour, I met a hiring manager. They asked me to log into their VM and write code in Vim, then debug an issue in printf using GDB. After the first hour, they told me they were looking for something else.

The weird part of this process was the contrast between the themes of the first and second interview.

Questions

They asked me to implement a stack that can hold any data type. As I went along, they updated their requirements a bunch of times, maybe to see how I could improvise.
