I had two phone screening calls.
One was good. I was asked to implement some data structures, and the interviewer was very polite.
The second call was with the Hiring Manager, whom I do not wish to name. It was awful.
This was definitely the worst interview experience so far.
Throughout the entire interview, there was no real dialogue. The manager kept asking the same questions repeatedly and did not entertain any answers other than the one he had in mind. He did not want me to answer the coding question in the way I preferred, but he also didn't provide clues as to what he was expecting from me.
Just 20 minutes into the phone call, he abruptly stopped me during the coding exercise and said that he didn't see me as a fit for the job.
At the end of the interview, I was so glad that I didn't have to work under such a rude and ill-mannered manager.
Both rounds were to implement data structures.
