Process

Initial recruiter background matching Initial tech screening Virtual onsite

HR and initial tech screening went well. The first tech interviewer was nice and friendly. I was asked two coding questions (one LeetCode easy and one medium).

The interviewer gave me some hints when I was stuck on the optimal solution for the second question.

The real negative experience was with the onsite round. I felt that the interviewer could have done a better job of explaining the problem and providing clarification when I asked questions.

When I made some mistakes in the code, instead of pointing them out constructively, they said something along the lines of, "What is this even doing? It doesn't make any sense. You just did something random to try to make your solution work."

I was also questioned on my previous experiences with a tone of doubt, with questions like, "Have you actually done this before?" or "Did you really learn about this?"

In the end, I was able to produce a working solution, but I was already mentally checked out halfway through.

Not a very pleasant experience overall.
