Arista is unique as a high-quality, software-focused company in computer networking.
The projects are technically challenging but rewarding. You get plenty of control over the design process. I found, even as a relatively new grad out of college, that I was able to prove myself through my work and quickly take the lead on small/medium projects. With that, you also get plenty of responsibility and ownership over your work as it ships in regular releases, which always feels good.
Computer networking is a unique industry, too, and it's cool to get an inside look into how some of the world's biggest companies and cloud titans use our products in the field.
Work-life balance is great, especially having to work remotely during COVID-19. They understand that software engineering is a marathon, not a sprint.
Everyone is super friendly and always willing to answer questions and/or provide help.
As a sizable company, there is a lot of very focused internal tooling. This is great when it works, but can be frustrating if things break or when you are new, as it's not just something you can easily look up yourself.
Keep up the good work, keep growing!
The interview process took about 3 weeks. They followed up on questions I had after each round of interview.
Coding round: Conducted on Coderpad, emphasis on style and clean code. The question was very easy and took barely 5 minutes. First round: C++ trivia, question on trees. Second round: Resume review, a question on Tries.
I had an online coding question with the interviewer. I had to use C++ and start with two easy-level questions. It was about 1 hour long, and you will receive some feedback.
