Talented people to work with. A helpful environment.
Pune/WiFi people are not valued much.
Following a comparison with the fellow Bangalore team (leave aside overseas teams).
Pune/WiFi: 150 people including Dev (product, automation, devops, tools), Test, Support, PLM. Bangalore/Switch: 200 people out of 1000 worldwide engineers. Other roles are outside these 1000 employees.
Pune/WiFi: Complete responsibility of the WiFi products. Bangalore/Switch: Going with the above numbers, 1/5 of the total Switch products responsibility and hence approx 1/5 of meaningful work.
Pune/WiFi: WiFi tech/protocol literally changes every 2 years. Extra work, new set of platforms every two years (average three platforms per year), no other option but to compete with a highly evolving market. Bangalore/Switch: No major breakthrough since optic fibre, same protocol for a decade. New platforms can be slower as the market is not highly evolving.
Pune/WiFi: No one would say there is good work-life balance. Daily hours of work. Not much of a leisure choice because soon all are thrown into the burning heat of the market. Bangalore/Switch: Good work-life balance (all reviews about good work-life balance at Arista India are from Bangalore people only). Obviously, as they are bearing only 1/5 of total workload. The rest 4/5 they do is just leisure. You may relate reviews about people getting to get a choice of work they can do and time they get to prove themselves.
Pune/WiFi: 10 holidays a year. Bangalore/Switch: 10, +1 for Kannada Rajyotsav.
Pune/WiFi: Gift perks like t-shirts. Bangalore/Switch: T-shirts + annual gift perks like Echo Dots, smart watches.
Pune/WiFi: If Pune gets 100 as salary. Bangalore/Switch: Bangalore gets a minimum of 120 as salary, just because this is the usual salary gap between Pune & Bangalore.
I understand that Bangalore people need 1 lakh extra annually for the more rent they pay. But all other costs are the same in Pune & Bangalore. In fact, Maharashtra has more/highest state taxes in India.
Simply going by the poor work-life balance and amount of work-responsibility, the Pune people have more than the Bangalore people. Pune people should get 5 times the pay of Bangalore people (minus 1 lakh, I concede). But they get only 80% of Bangalore people's pay - for the same level/role and comparatively worse work/life balance.
Really unfair.
The Pune/WiFi team needs to be valued much more than they are valued now.
Easy DSA questions and fundamentals are necessary. Do OS, CN, OOPs, and DSA. LeetCode medium. Graphs, tries, and trees. Three rounds: two DSA and one managerial. Two rounds were online, whereas one was onsite in the office.
It was nice. Mostly questions on trees and computer science fundamentals were asked. It also asked about computer networks, as it is a networking company. They were offering 65,000 per month and a 50,000 relocation bonus.
I wanted to share my recent hiring experience with Arista Networks, which unfortunately turned into one of the most frustrating processes I’ve encountered — mainly due to poor communication and lack of transparency. After clearing multiple interview
