Pros

If you don't want to work, there are a lot of people in the same boat.

Cons

Seniors in the company are relaxing after the IPO. Most people with 4 years or more of work experience at Arista don't have motivation because the company has not given a salary hike. Good people are in the process of quitting or have already quit.

The internal performance review is just an eyewash. There is no transparency in the rating.

As a newcomer to the company, your performance rating cannot be better than an existing employee's, and your managers will make sure that a newcomer will never get rated high.

Directors in the company are becoming individual contributors to avoid confrontation with management. Sadly, they are too lazy or, in some cases, incapable of finding another job.

In the India office, newly promoted managers are neither experienced enough to be managers nor good leaders to lead the team. They were promoted just based on how well they managed food at some internal company events.

Advice to Management
  • Retain good people.
  • Compensation needs to be up to industry standard.
