Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

February 1, 2024
Negative ExperienceNo Response

Process

The process began with a typical recruiter screen, followed by a technical screen and a very long virtual onsite.

All in all, the process totaled about 10 hours:

  • 30 minutes for the recruiter screen
  • 1 hour for the technical screen
  • A whopping 8 hours for the onsite round

After completing the interviews, I received a verbal offer, only to be told shortly after that the role had been filled. I wondered if the position had been filled prior to the onsite round, given some of the interviewers' comments. Considering the significant time invested in the lengthy onsite, I wish I could have that time back, especially if the role was already filled or nearing completion.
