Pros: Interesting work, great culture, and not overly stressful.

Cons: The bigger the company, the bigger the politics.

Pros: A good job is something that provides: * Autonomy * Complexity * A direct connection between effort and reward ASML provides all that. ASML shows autonomy by letting employees do remote work (if applicable). The work is complex and interesting by its very nature – we are building highly complicated machines. Lastly, ASML provides reward for good effort in numerous ways, such as the reward programs (points which can be converted into gift cards) and salary raises that go beyond inflation. As an engineer or scientist, if you develop an experiment or test plan and need money, there's very little pushback for ordering equipment or tests. And, ASML is fond of letting engineers and scientists stay as engineers or scientists – it's the managers who deal with the political conversations such as headcount and budgeting, etc. Engineers and scientists can stay technical without wearing many hats. Lastly, ASML company culture is very family friendly. Managers and co-workers are very understanding when time is needed for doctor's appointments, or if childcare falls through, etc.

Cons: Some employees are spread quite thin if there is high demand for them. ASML needs more headcount – and they are hiring all the time – but there is so much work to do!

Pros: Organizational structure gives a relative amount of autonomy compared to other places I’ve worked. Status updates are actually useful rather than a forum for management to hold everyone’s feet to the fire. Company expresses a lot of interest in the continued development of tech, rather than just riding the profits of past successes. Work-life balance is at least as good, if not better than other jobs I’ve had.

Cons: Still a huge company, so there’s some bureaucracy.
