I have been working at ASML for more than 10 years, starting with the Twinscan lithography systems and then moving into HMI in a senior position. Comparing both, I cannot see any significant advantages for this organization.
The only pros I can come up with for this company are:
It is a very Chinese-friendly environment. If you feel uncomfortable with English, this is the perfect spot for you.
If you want to build up your resume for a short period in the Bay Area, it could be a nice choice.
Extremely racist environment. If you don't know how to speak Chinese, Mandarin in particular, you will be alienated. I've even seen people speaking in Mandarin even during meetings and conference calls. What you are doing is extremely disrespectful and racist.
Lack of professionalism and industry standards. If you take a look into the cleanroom, it is a complete mess. You call this a cleanroom?
Lack of organized documentation and procedures. How did you guys even survive 20 years? Astonishing.
A lot of big-brained people too proud of the fact that they have a Ph.D. Seriously, what does even a Ph.D. mean to you? Many of the people are straight out of school and do not have a basic idea about this industry.
Lack of good mentors. The older people are concerned more about keeping their positions and like the things as they were throughout the years. What kind of innovation could you expect from this environment?
VERY VERY LOW PAY. You should note that the base salary from your competitors is far better than what you offer in the area. I think the company is exploiting kids fresh out from school at a cheaper cost.
This organization has been selling the multibeam for years. What progress are you making now? What I only hear is that the prototype is still being delayed due to unexpected bottlenecks.
Management does not think about innovation or progress.
People do not have a sense of urgency in their minds. They all boast about the fact that they have been market leaders for a while. This is what is causing you people to become complacent and lazy.
You have to fire a lot of people, especially at upper-level management and senior-level engineers.
Learn from how Veldhoven operates.
With all due respect, you guys are just joking around.
It was an interesting experience. The people seemed to be friendly, knowledgeable, and knew whom they were looking for, asking purposeful questions. * Take candidate questions seriously. * Stay in touch post-interview. * Research the candidate befor
Bureaucratic and inhumane recruiting system. There was a gap of one month between the first and second interview (with no feedback). A recruiter from ASML messed up and didn't send me a confirmation for the on-site interview, so I missed it (for me
First round was with HR. I was asked about my project experience. They wanted to see how you can present things well and which group matched your background. Second round was with the prospective group. I was asked about optical imaging questions an
