Constant surpluses make it tough when you and your spouse both work for the same company. They used to offer more positions that you could see yourself in long-term. However, they surplussed all internal employees and started either outsourcing the jobs to other countries or contracting so they don't have to pay employee benefits and such. The company used to be great to work for, but is headed downhill fast.
Stop acting like YOU are AT&T and everything you say is AT&T policy – because it's not. Not in my experience. I have had the WORST leaders think they know everything and treat their people like crap, saying their OPINIONS are FACT/POLICY. Come to find out, they are lying and know they are lying.
Also, in a professional role, if you hire someone at a management level to do a job, let them do it. Empower them to do it, set them up for success. STOP MICROMANAGING EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING. If you want to do the job, there's no need to hire them.
