Half off on AT&T Mobile service. Half off or free DirecTV service. That's about it. They've stripped out all other pros.
T wants to be a tech-forward company, but at the end of the day, especially upper/exec management, they are a telephone company. They want to do Agile and be leaders in the streaming industry, but they do not foster it, are unwilling to pay for top talent, and do not take care of the employees they have. Remote work is discouraged, and strict working hours are enforced. Work/life balance is nonexistent.
I've had three different management chains in the last year, all due to reorganizations, layoffs, and musical chairs at the VP levels.
Start caring for and valuing your employees. Happy employees will give you better products and deliverables, rather than demanding the deliverable and forcing employees to work certain hours because you believe that's the best suitable time. There is not a line of people waiting to land a job at ATT, so take care of the employees you have.
The interview process was standard. The first interview was over the phone. The second interview was at the AT&T facility with a local employee and a manager based out of state. Basic technology questions. Nothing too complicated.
Applied online. Got a direct link to schedule an interview with the team. No recruiter involved. System Design: Indepth resume review, design APIs. Coding: 1 coding question, LC Medium. Behavioural: Typical "tell me about a time..."
Group interview with three members of technical staff. Final interview with hiring manager. Mostly general questions about previous projects and experience with specific tech stack. No coding questions. Mostly soft questions.
