When AT&T Mobility & Entertainment bought DIRECTV, the company lost all of its inclusive family atmosphere and became cutthroat corporate. When it came time to lower their IBIDA, they laid off over 11,000, mostly DIRECTV, employees in a single day. No matter how impressive your work history, they simply needed to reach their predetermined head count.
AT&T Mobility & Entertainment has since divested DIRECTV and given them back control of the company. I imagine DIRECTV will be back on track in no time at all.

QA Engineer
