It took a week after applying to receiving an invitation to complete the coding challenge, and then three weeks to receive an invitation for a phone call.
Twenty to thirty minutes were allocated for the phone call, but the recruiter ended it after ten minutes (claiming the call had gone very well) with no indication of why. Despite the role allowing any OO experience, the recruiter was only interested in Java.
Not a single question was asked about why I wanted to join Atlassian, what I thought of their values, or the relevant side projects and experience I had listed. Essentially, this was an interview for a Java role, even though it was supposed to be a non-technical call.
Three weeks later, I received a generic rejection email.
How much Java experience do you have?
