The process began in August 2023 and took 74 days.
After a pleasant conversation with the recruiter, we proceeded to the first technical interview, which covered data structures. Within two days, I received 100% good comments, and my evaluation score was P60.
System design was the next interview, which also went well, and I received a P50. My fourth interview, for Code Design, was the strangest technical interview experience I've ever had. The interviewer had their camera off and gave me a P40 rating, even though I finished the solution in less than an hour.
I agreed when the recruiter suggested that Atlassian would proceed with interviews for Senior Software Engineer positions rather than Principal Software Engineer positions.
I went on to have two more interviews: Management and Values. Both went well, and I enjoyed both.
The interviewer informed me that, for whatever reason, the Hiring Committee had not approved my application after it was submitted.
I had expected a more professional process from Atlassian, and it felt like a waste of three months of effort.
