Process

I applied through the Stack Overflow Careers website.

I was given a short iOS assignment and submitted it. It was an iOS app in Objective-C.

Once they reviewed the project, I was called for a Skype interview.

There were two interviewers: one was the iOS Developer, and the other an architect. The questions circled around iOS development and the architecture of applications overall.

Questions

Explain MVC in iOS in detail. Describe the responsibilities of each component. How will you incorporate it within your application?

Explain memory management in iOS applications. How do you structure your app to use as little memory as possible? What are memory leaks? What will be the steps to pinpoint a memory leak?

What is a delegate? Where can you use it? Why should you not use inheritance in place of a delegate? What is an app delegate?

Explain deep linking. How will you structure deep linking for your app? What is concurrency? What are the different ways to achieve concurrency in iOS?

Explain any of your projects in detail. How many unit tests do you have in your app? What is your role in this project? How do you make sure your code is bug-free?
