I specifically asked the recruiter in the sync-up before my final round if the coding challenge would be a LeetCode-style question. He said no; it would be a "real-world situation."
I showed up and was asked a tagged question straight off LeetCode, with no real-world scenario to it at all. It was a silly puzzle about a game that would never come up on the job.
I emailed the recruiter afterwards, stating I was caught off guard and would have prepared differently if it was a LeetCode-style coding round, as I was told something different. I asked if I could do another coding round so I could properly prepare.
There was no response and no accountability.
It's disappointing that a software company as sophisticated as Atlassian has such a broken interview process for engineers.
Questions for all final rounds can easily be found on the internet beforehand. Don't listen to the recruiters about coding rounds being "real world" scenarios. They are all LeetCode tagged questions.
