A 6-month review cycle, which takes around a month of focus, creates a difficult working environment.
Engineering has turned from a very high collaboration environment to an "every person for themself" environment.

Pros: It pays like a big tech company!
And there are still remnants of what Atlassian once was.
Cons: The Atlassian of today is not what it once was. Mike Cannon-Brookes seems to have lost part of his soul with his divorce. Executive leadership is mostly folks that couldn't cut it at Facebook and Microsoft, and brought their not-so-great leadership skills to Atlassian.
We've copied Meta's performance review system, Apex. We live in constant fear of stack ranking. We're trying to be like Big Tech, and we're really not good at it, which is creating inhumane conditions.
