The interview process included an initial screening call and two technical interviews, each lasting one hour with different interviewers.
The second technical interview was with a person who had a very strong accent, making it difficult to understand every third or fourth word. I repeated what I thought I heard and attempted to clarify their questions, but the interviewer seemed to become frustrated. They appeared to assume I didn't know how to proceed rather than acknowledging the comprehension issues caused by their accent.
I learned the following morning that I was not selected to move forward. I personally feel this outcome is unfair, but it reflects the reality of interviews at larger companies. The interviewers can vary significantly, and this can impact performance.
Aside from this communication challenge, the interview questions and problem scenarios were straightforward. However, understanding the second interviewer's instructions for code modifications or verbal problem-solving was difficult due to their accent.
First tech interview: Build simple UI elements based on a mock. Render data in the UI elements.
Second tech interview: You're given code snippets of a JavaScript function and have to modify the function based on scenarios given by the interviewer.
